Taking good pictures has been my passion for a long time. It is also a paradox that photography is a creative activity even though pictures actually originate from real life scenes.
Photography means ‘writing with light’; it is an expression of thoughts and emotions using two dimensional snapshots of life, people, objects, events and nature. The quality of pictures is measured by what happens in the minds of the viewers. Do they trigger an emotion, a feeling or a thought? Do they convey an idea? Do they communicate something?
So the challenge in making good photos is: how to use pictures of the real world to communicate something? And beyond the technique, which can be very elaborate, photography is finally also communication.
My preference is to be as good as possible at shooting – and spending the least time in the electronic dark room, in other words minimize the use of image post processing. So what you see in this site is very close to the images as they were shot.
I let you discover some of my photos. I hope you will enjoy looking at them!
I’d also like to read from you: any feedback is welcome. After all, as photography is communication, and the effect that these photos create on you are the most important thing for me.
